About Fees
Most
of my new patients come to me via direct referral from other satisfied
patients, have seen me give a seminar, or have heard in some way by
"word of mouth" that my Motivational Enhancement approach helps people
recover from addictions. They also know it works great for depression,
anxiety, and other issues.
If your only introduction to me is
this website, I can understand you have concerns. So I want to make it
EASY for you to consider working with me. I feel confident you will
find our treatment relationship beneficial.
I'll do the
following to allow us to get to know each other, for NO charge. I want
to make sure that I'm the right professional for you before you even
have to step into my office.
Here is the SPECIAL OFFER for website visitors:
****
NO CHARGE 10 to 15 minute phone consultation, where you will speak
directly with me -- not a receptionist or non-clinical assistant. Get a
feel for my style, whether you feel comfortable chatting with me, etc.
Then, if we both agree its in YOUR best interest, we'll consider scheduling your first in-office consultation.
Currently, my usual and customary fees are $ 475 for the initial evaluation and $ 325 for the follow-up session fees.
{Note:
I am NOT a participant in any managed care insurance panel. If you have
"out-of-network" benefits, you may be able to get a portion of my fee
back from your insurance company.I will give you a receipt for you to
submit. Payment expected at time of sessions - check, cash or money
order. Sorry, no credit cards accepted. Fee structure slightly higher
for buprenorphine treatment - visit www.suboxonehelp.com for more info.}
Why an Addiction Psychiatrist?
If you or a loved one has an addictive disorder, then read this before you make a potentially SERIOUS, but common mistake!! *********************************** If You Think You May Have An Addiction Problem, DO NOT See A General Psychiatrist!!
I
regularly get calls from people with addiction issues who are in active
treatment with well meaning, but MISINFORMED general psychiatrist.
General Psychiatrist know little about addictions ... and most want
NOTHING TO DO with people suffering from drug addiction, alcohol
dependence, etc.
These people calling me are taking medications
that are WORSENING their addiction, there current psychiatrist is
IGNORING the addiction .. or WORSE YET can't really figure out what is
causing the person's distress.
Now thw GOOD NEWS. I'm a Board
Certified Addiction Psychiatrist, with specialized training and
expertise in all components of addiction treatment.
This means
the expert use of Motivational Enhancement and Cognitive -Behavioral
Psychotherapy. And the APPROPRIATE use of medications.
Please
read the rest of my website, see my SPECIAL OFFER, and give me a call
if you are in the NYC area and want to schedule an appointment.
P.S.:
Be wary of physicians who call themselves Addiction Medicine
specialists. They are limited in the scope of help they can offer. They
are usually internists or general practioners, who can perhaps help
detox you from substances -- but they lack the all important
psychotherapy training that an ADDICTION PSYCHIATRIST has.
